Build the tool the trades deserve

Quotrr was founded in Sacramento and we are hiring contractors and engineers in 2026. We are small and honest about it. If that sounds like the room you want to be in, read on.

Where we are

Quotrr is early. It is built by a working pool contractor who wanted his own business to run without him, and it is growing from there. We are not going to dress that up. There is no big team, no war chest, and no corner office. There is a real product that real contractors use, and a clear thesis about why the reputation graph should belong to the contractor.

Who we build for

Everything we make answers to three people, and you should know them before you apply.

  • The owner-operator. The pro who quotes the job, does the work, and chases the invoice. The tool has to respect the hour after dark when they catch up on paperwork.
  • The crew lead. The person running the job on the ground, often switching between English and Spanish in the same conversation. Bilingual is load-bearing, not a setting.
  • The homeowner. The person paying. They never open a contractor tool. They meet Quotrr through a share link or a Props text, and their trust is the output of the product, not its entry point.

How we work

  • Verify before claiming done. The build succeeds, the app runs, the behavior is observed. "Should work" is not done.
  • Plain over hype. We talk like a contractor across the table, not a SaaS pitch deck. That goes for the product, the copy, and each other.
  • Truck-up, not top-down. When we are not sure something is right for the field, we ask people in the field.
  • We never sell leads. The business model is outcomes, not auctioning contractors against each other. If that matters to you, you are in the right place.

Open roles

Two roles to start. They are real, and as we are early some of the shape will be drawn with whoever takes them. Apply by email and tell us straight what you would do here.

Full-stack engineer

Sacramento or remote US Full time

Build the product end to end: the iOS app, the Cloudflare edge API, and the web console. You will ship real features to working contractors and watch what they do with them.

What you would do

  • Ship features across the stack, from SwiftUI on iOS to TypeScript on Cloudflare Workers.
  • Keep the build honest: it compiles, it runs, the behavior is observed before it is called done.
  • Talk to contractors and let what they tell you change what you build.

Who you are

  • Comfortable owning a feature from idea to shipped, without a spec handed to you.
  • Strong in TypeScript and willing to learn the parts you do not know yet.
  • Allergic to hype. You would rather show a working thing than describe a planned one.

Contractor success lead

Sacramento Full time

Be the bridge between working contractors and the product. Onboard the first pros, sit with them while they set up their price book, and carry what you hear back to the team.

What you would do

  • Onboard contractors and get them to their first sent proposal fast.
  • Run help and support like a person who respects the trades, not a ticket queue.
  • Turn what contractors struggle with into clear product feedback.

Who you are

  • Someone who knows the trades, ideally from working in or around them.
  • Plain-spoken, patient, and good on the phone with a busy owner-operator.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a real plus, because a lot of the trade is.
