Design Studio

Let a homeowner see the project on their own yard, right from the estimate page.

Design Studio is the tool that lets a homeowner see the project on their actual yard before they sign. It is reached from the public estimate page, so the customer opens it from the same link you already sent. No app, no account.

What it does

A line on a proposal is a number and a description. That is enough for some buyers and not enough for others. Design Studio turns the proposed project into something the homeowner can look at on their own property, so the conversation moves from a price on a page to a picture of the thing they are buying. It helps them say yes because they can see what yes means.

Where it lives

Design Studio is linked from the public estimate page, the same magic-link page where the customer reviews scope and signs. See Sending the magic-link customer portal for how that page works. The customer taps through from the estimate, looks at the project on their yard, and comes back to the proposal to sign.

How to use it in a sale

Send the proposal as usual. When you walk the customer through it, point them at Design Studio so they can see the project on their property instead of imagining it. Buyers who can see what they are getting hesitate less, and a clear picture cuts down on the back-and-forth about what was and was not included.

Why it helps you close

The gap between a quote and a signature is usually doubt. The homeowner cannot quite picture the finished thing, so they stall, or they shop the same job to two more contractors hoping one of them makes it real. Design Studio takes the imagining out of it. When the customer can look at the project on their own yard, the conversation stops being about whether to trust your description and starts being about the price and the timeline, which are the things you can actually answer. A buyer who can see it is a buyer closer to yes.

When to reach for it

Lean on Design Studio for the jobs where the look is the sale, a pool, a deck, a visible build the homeowner will live with for years. For a pump swap nobody will ever see, the estimate page alone is plenty. Use the tool where it earns its keep and skip it where a clear line item already does the job.

It does not change the number

Design Studio is about seeing the project, not editing the scope. The price and the line items still come from your proposal and your price book. What the customer signs is the scope you sent. See Setting up your price book for where those line items come from, and When a customer signs for what happens when they commit.
